Vermont Massage Therapist Licensing and Certification Requirements

If you've graduated from a massage school in Vermont and are interested in practicing massage therapy as your career, it is important to stay up to date on the rules and regulations that apply to massage therapists in Vermont to verify what the requirements are.

Vermont Massage Therapy Board - New License Requirements

Because the state of Vermont is currently putting in place regulations for statewide licensure but they are not in place yet, you will need to check with your city or county Department of Labor or Health Department regulators to find out your requirements to practice Massage Therapy, while keeping an eye on the state requirements.

You may want to obtain a certification through the NCBTMB or a License with FSMTB after graduation to ensure that you can continue your career smoothly if you decide to move to another state. Some massage establishments and many spas require a certification or license to work for them.

It is highly suggested that you arrange to take these certification / licensing exams is at the end of your schooling or right after, while the information is fresh in your mind.
