About the School

Are you interested in human anatomy and the healing power of touch? Do you seek a meaningful career that allows for change and flexibility? Study with us in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, a mecca for healing arts in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

BOULDER COLLEGE OF MASSAGE THERAPY
Founded in 1975, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) is one of the only stand-alone, non-profit massage therapy schools in the country. For over 35 years, we’ve been preparing massage therapists for exceptional careers. Our faculty of over 30 accomplished professionals cares about the success of each student. We recognize the value in individual bodywork style; rather than churning out status-quo therapists, we equip graduates for lifelong careers – not just jobs.

CURRICULUM
Our curriculum balances classic Western massage with traditional Eastern bodywork. Modalities in our massage therapy programs include Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Integrative Therapeutic Massage, and our own brand of deep tissue massage, Normalization of Soft Tissue. Associates degree students expand their repertoire with four additional symposium-based modality classes.

Students in each program have the opportunity to select from a wide range of electives and choose areas of specialization. While all of the body systems are explored in-depth, muscle anatomy is taught specifically through building muscles in colored clay on a skeleton Anatomiken™ -- a great tool for kinesthetic learners.

Reviews/Testimonials

I can't imagine a better foundational education. I have a BS from Duke University and an MS from the University of Colorado, and I can honestly say that I learned more practical, valuable and empowering, information in my 1000 hour massage program than I did in 8 years of higher education.
