The biggest question people who are considering becoming a massage therapist ask themselves is, "Will I be able to find work in the field after I graduate?" The answer is a resounding yes! There is more need than ever for excellent massage therapists and the demand keeps growing.
Another question that's important to ask yourself is, "Do you want to graduate as a competent therapist or an exceptional one?" The Institute for Therapeutic Massage offers you personal attention, small classes and a comprehensive curriculum designed to make you a massage therapist who is in demand.
We offer you not only an incredibly strong evidence based foundation, but in addition you'll also learn holistic principles that will make you a well rounded therapist giving great depth and breadth to the bodywork you offer your clients.
Our core program is a 650-hour, New Jersey State approved massage therapy course that is offered at all six northern and southern school locations, and prepares you to become a multi-faceted massage therapist trained in Swedish, Medical Massage, and several allied Health & Wellness modalities.
Full and part time, day and night time class schedules are available to provide the greatest amount of flexibility to learn massage therapy while meeting the needs of our students. The Massage Therapy & Bodywork Program not only meets the requirements of New Jersey's Licensure standards, it also provides you the knowledge needed to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCETMB) or the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx), which is endorsed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB).
The Institute for Therapeutic Massage has 5 campuses which are conveniently located throughout New Jersey to make it easy for you to attend school.
As an accredited school we can also offer federal financial aid to those who qualify, as well as numerous in-house flexible payment plans that can help make school affordable for you.
The Institute for Therapeutic Massage was established in 1994 by Lisa Helbig, LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), and was quickly approved by the New Jersey Department of Education. Classes began in 1995, and in April of 2001, the school became accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) - the only specialized accreditor recognized by the United States Department of Education (DOE) with a primary focus on massage education, and helping students become massage therapists.
